Forcalquier is five minutes away, with its sloping lanes and its market. The Plateau de Valensole, twenty minutes off, still offers in the early part of the month that violet geometry people travel a long way to see. The Gorges du Verdon are forty-five minutes away, Manosque twenty, Aix-en-Provence forty.
In other words, you can spend the whole day out exploring the Luberon and Haute-Provence, knowing that dinner on the terrace awaits you on your return. It is a quiet kind of comfort, but it changes everything: the end of the day is no longer a logistical question, it becomes the high point of the day.
